MangaPlus bot posting inaccessible 4th and final chapters of older series

Is this a bug or a feature? Updates feed is currently being flooded with chapters that are inaccessible to free access, looks to be mostly older titles where the final chapter has long since been taken down. It looks like the bot is deliberately targeting first+last unavailable chapters

They were flooding the site again today a couple of hours ago, relinking chapters that had already been linked weeks or even months ago.

If they're deliberately posting those, but there's nothing there (blank site, something like that), something may need to be done about this.

Dunno if there is nothing there, as I only follow a couple of those manga they posted. But Ruri Dragon for instance, had a "new" chapter "uploaded" (linked), so I clicked on the link, only to see it was a chapter from a couple of months ago. When I opened the Ruri Dragon page in MangaDex, sure enough, it was a chapter they had already posted 3 months ago, being reposted again.

Going through the "Latest Updates" link on the main MangaDex page, they were "uploading" non-stop for about 3 hours, and over 30+ "pages" of "new" links were in the Latest Updates.

Mangaplus uploader was broken a few weeks ago so maybe they're still fixing it.

On the plus*cough* side, I suspect that it pulled all available titles yesterday so we should expect only active series updates from here on out.

There is a hefty degree of irony in that
the bot is supposed to clean out dead links and it did the exact opposite. Very boss move by the devs. I shall tip my hat to Claude for a job well done

It looks like it's starting again right now, around 6:30 EST. I can already see it's following the same pattern, a single digit chapter, along with some chapters around 3+ old previously posted for multiple series. Let's see how long it'll last.

Seems like the MangaPlus API is serving HTTP 200 responses (equivalent for "OK" for the non-technical users) for some locked chapters, causing the bot to get confused about which chapters are available and which ones actually aren't
