They make it free and you ask for the best quality ! What is inexcusable is how greedy people like you are. What will be your next demand ? To have all chapters for free in the best quality ?

As for the mangaplus reader I have zero issue when using the application on my phone and my tablet

Don't call me greedy, you little brat. I have already more money than you will earn in your whole life. And I do buy my favorite manga, either in my language or the VIZ volumes. HOWEVER, it is literally impossible to read the best quality, Shueisha simply doesn't make them available to the public.
This is nothing short of a scandal.
You can see some of the REAL manga pics (=like the mangaka draw them in their office) in various exhibitions. For example the One Piece exhibitions. The panels there are so sharp, you cut your eyes just by looking at it - as it should be!! And those panels (directly from the manga) are several times the size of a normal volume panel!

I would have no problem to pay $50 or more a month for Mangaplus, if they PROVIDE THE ORIGINAL QUALITY, AS INTENDED BY THE MANGAKA!!!!

They (Shueisha) do it because they are scared of community's ire. Before implementing some kind of monetization (ads, subscription, etc) they need to redirect readers to MP. But in the end they couldn't compete with scanlation groups (MS included) regarding speed, quality, and style of translations, so they pressed scanlators and providers threatening with legal charges.

Just wondering what will happen to groups that decided to collaborate with MS or JB for their releases, like evil genius for Berserk or pusu pusu scans for Fire Force: will they return to their independent work on their sites? Will they stop scanlating altogether? Will the move their scans here on Mangadex?

Giving a custom behavior to navigation keys and disabling shortcuts like Ctrl + R/1/2/etc are huge no's for accessibility and absolutely terrible ideas in general. The pattern used is to use new keys for new features, not replacing other key's behavior. When in full screen, the screen blinks if you scroll to the navigation bar in Firefox. The navbar only pops if you click on the images but not when you click on the sides, which is much more common. If you missclick the selector to pick chapter from that navbar by just a few pixels, you instead visit the manga's details page, but because the link isn't underlined, you don't realize you are making a mistake until you do click. If you click on the sides of a page when in the middle of it, you either navigate a page down or up... Why..?

There's tons of things I dislike about that reader

@MangaField "Don't call me greedy, you little brat. I have already more money than you will earn in your whole life." calm down dude, you just typed something an evil chairman-esque villain would say. I do agree that M+ kinda sucks, both quality of the scans and the UI are either subpar or just "eh, passable". But with that said, he does have a point. Don't expect quality from anything that is free, even if other translator/scanlator could do it better.

Right now any scanlators that are translating WSJ or intending to do so are at the mercy of Shueisha. The best thing you could do is either support you prefered WSJ scanlators quietly (if they still exist), or try to use what is available (M+). Take JB's advice "We hope you all support MangaPlus! If they aren't doing a good job, email them". if you don't like it, contact them through Facebook. It's the only official way to contact them that i could find, if you know any other way to legally and officially contact them. Great! share the link. Just don't spam them with hate mail or mention any other scanlators that did their job better. Just point out problems or suggestion that may help the website, and PRAY to anything that you believes in, that they would listen (that's still a big "if).

At the end of the day,Shueisha still owns the rights. We can only hope that our constant ranting would eventually reach their ears. (just like what happened with DQ11 and Square Enix)

@Thalon Fire Force isn't WSJ nor Shueisha, so it should be fine (on JB) for now.

not sure about Berserk, but it being on Hiatus means it can be worried about later.

What just happened to MD in the past few days is one of the things I was talking about when I said that what happened to MS was concerning. You dismissed it as "it happened to a site I don't care about, so what is the big deal", but the point was that if they go after sites you don't care about, they might also decide to go after sites that you do care about, too. I hope that MD's move and changes help protect them more in the future, but it is of note that the DMCA seems to have been trying to get personal info about the people who run the site, rather than just taking down an offending chapter.

As I said a couple weeks ago, it will be interesting to see how much further they pursue things. Clearly MS wasn't just an isolated incident, but it remains to be seen if they will further chase after MD in the near future, with the offending chapter gone, and with the server migration, or if MD will be left alone again for a while.

@bastek66 technically, yes. The group has folded. So as long as it’s not an early release, I don’t think they have any right to say no. But just in case, i want an MD staff opinion. After all, there’s THOUSANDS of chapters that MS did. Not counting oneshots and dropped projects like Fire Force too. I think that they should be uploaded for posterity.

Doesnt matter if they folded or not. Groups that didnt want their stuff on here would still be DNU...

What does WSJ stand for? I'm going to assume the SJ is for Shonen Jump, but what about the W?
