The mangaka is active on Twitter, and surprisingly enough he responded to me when I asked about the dissonance between the 1st chapter and the rest of the series.

Essentially the editor recommended that he did not limit himself to making Honami horny to show her other good aspects, so he's been trying to balance out the horniness and the wholesomeness of her character. He said he did not want to let chapter 1 come across as something like "did that really happen?" but I did point out it had come across exactly like that as the story never went back there again.

I'm not going to say I convinced him to draw Honami masturbating again, but I like to think I tipped the scale a little bit.
Balancing is a tough act and I'm sure he had planned to go back to chapter 1 shenanigans at some point, but I like to think I gave him a little push.

I definitely think it's better then her being horny as her only character trait, tho I also agree that the first chapter started a little too strong so I was doubting the reality of it at least until the shower chapter.
