still NUN REITIA, just waiting for her to show a skirt cut, 'cause we know that demon lord is not only a boob man, but also a leg guy.

Demon Lord just might mean, and this is a stretch, the lord of demons. One might say king or ruler as well; seeing as how the title gets passed to offspring* it could also be thought of as the head of a monarchy. But who knows?

She indeed more or less was. I'm guessing that this is just political/religious bullshit disguised as "retraining the hero".

Seriously though, why does the Demon Lord need to jump through all of these hoops? It isn't like his side is doing the same to various humans. For the most part, asside from making her crown princess as a formality, the demon side has been fairly hands off, or only consult with Demon Lord, and not his extended family. But now not only the hero, but the rest of her family must be "retrained"?

IMO, it sounds to me like "someone" comes from an upbringing built upon an anti-demon mentality, and is now struggling to accept the recent social/political changes, and her "friend's" new family. And instead is trying to revert it back to how it was before, if not into a better, more favorable standpoint.

I mean just look at her arguments. Nothing she has stated has shown influence from demons, besides becoming crown princess, to which she also admitted to agreeing with in the first place as a necessary evil. She criticizes her lifestyle and them points out how she tries to excuse it or weasel her way out of the criticism. I'm sorry, who the fuck asked her for her opinion? Friends don't just show up unannounced, point out all of your flaws that they personally disagree with, and then force you to attend a retraining to make themselves feel better.

Even her opening criticism was that she was wearing pajamas later on into the day, on her day off. Really? Can't a person just relax how they want to? Or is that too far outside of her personal ideals which means she feels obligated to fix it?

So this is how it really is, she isn't happy they aren't at war with the demons because without war her monastery doesn't have much else to do. Since there is peace she wants to nitpick at everything Angelica and her family does. Maybe she can break up their happy family and they can go back to war then she and her monastery will have purpose again.

Personally if I were the demon lord, I’d say it’s not my problem humans are inherently racist and hold prejudice and create evil assumptions and generalizations about my entire species based on our appearance and the fact we’re “different”. They can either grow the hell up and learn the human race isn’t at the center of the universe with all other life either being “evil” or beneath them (to be dominated) or deal with it. Anyone, who has been with Angelica can see that she has only matured as a person and become more powerful since the demon lord became her father. Any “unheroic” qualities she had long before the demon lord got in the mix. If anything she’s a much more responsible and mature (comparatively speaking) BECAUSE of the demon lord taking being her new father seriously. Not to mention even before this the demon species was just minding their own business; in this story humanity is the one that attacked first out of fear and prejudice. If I were in the Demon Lord’s place I’d be pretty pissed at having to prove myself at every turn just to please a mob of a species that wants to burn anything “different” from them.

@JavelinJoe I can’t express in words how much I absolutely agree with everything here. Seriously, she’s just become my least liked character

Exactly, this asshole of a friend needs to just mind her own business. "I can no longer overlook this" is a phrase you say to your underling or about something annoying you, which you have tried to ignore. Not something you say to a friend. And furthermore, when did she start needing your permission to do things, or follow only your methods? Real answer: never. Personal answer: I bet that the moment she joined the Hero's party, she already had this mentality of superiority over others, and friend was just a convenient word for puppet.

Also, what gives her the balls to order around a forign nation's leader like she's the one in charge? He may be your "friend's" step father, but he still is the leader of an entire nation. Show a bit of respect before you just enter his home after showing up unannounced, eat his wife's food, and just start laying into both him and his daughter with harsh criticisms like they are the only ones in the wrong. He may be fairly passive for a demon lord, but he can still easily beat the absolute living shit out of her if push comes to shove.

I know no one is thinking about it and the author just thought it would be a good setting but don't the Demon Lord has a lot of work to do? Can he really just leave for who knows how many days for no real reason?
There is no reason for the Demon Lord to be in the monastery as he is the most responsable, though a little ditzy, character in this story... well second most responsable as I would give that position to his secretary at the moment.

Ok, looks like everyone agrees this chapter was a mistake.

>what is a demon lord/king
considering we already know there's a bunch of them, it seems like it's really just what it sounds like, a king of a country of demons. Well, this particular country of demons. they just don't call their own king 'Human King'.

@JavelinJoe
no she doesn't need permission, but obviously she (and the others) value the monk's opinion highly enough to have it matter. obviously she CAN'T force them, no one is implying that she could. that's why she's making a case instead of kidnapping her. you're getting super worked up about this char

remember, she 'extended an invitation' to the family. as for angelica, it is part of her job as a party member to make sure that the hero's behavior doesn't bring down the reputation and respect of the party (and entire country)

still if this arc is just to explore what the demon king is all about, they didn't have to bother with all this monastery stuff.

He's a faithful husband now, and in the eyes of religion that's like +5000 good boy points or something.

Weird end for the chapter, as the next panel should have simply been of him answering/asserting "a demon lord is no more and no the equivalence of a human king, except my subjects are of a different and varied species. And just like saying 'human king', it is a very racist title that stuck thanks to humans prevalent usage, in their attempts of discrimination.", maybe handing her a dictionary so she can verify
