I actually thought these were some of the most exciting chapters of the series. The lack of text really let the chaos of war ravage the pages. I enjoyed the lack of talk-no-jutsu for this war arc.

I think it's a bit hit or miss. Sometimes it works, but sometimes it's too hard to see what's going on, which makes it hard to feel anything about it.

I think it also just comes down to what you want. I get that it can be confusing, but thats war. With these all out wars full of huge armies and large scale attacks its bound to be chaos, you wont fully know what the hells going on or whos even winning because youve got so much going on in every direction.

Sure, but it doesn't make for a compelling story. There's a bunch of random characters with a random outcome. It's not particularly effective at showing the confusion of war either, because the distance to the readers is too large.
