Why is it, that the "evil plotter" is always wearing the most obvious clothes that would have them immediately noticed (and probably executed on the spot) and the one who gets manipulated never manages to catch on into this obvious plot of this "sinister and clever" bad guy? I mean come on now, even a rock would figure it out from the first glance that not only should you now listen to a person dressed like that, but you should execute them on the spot, as they're obviously scheming against not only your opponents, but also against you.

Also, it's natural for such people to plot and scheme. The king is just supposed to stay on top of it all, playing them against one another.
