@WillLi Even in the West, most people think of Satan as a king of demons, rather than a particular fallen angel which led a rebellion against God as per the description from the Christian Bible, so it's not as big a deal for them to use "Satan" as an English localisation for 魔王 since the idea is already there. Of course, it is also used for alliteration purposes, since "Demon King's Secretary" doesn't quite roll off the tongue as well as "Satan's Secretary".

By the way, "Allah" is simply the Arabic word for "the God" and not a proper name either; it's not referring to the Muslim God in particular, so Christians and Jews in the Middle East have also been using "Allah" to refer to God for hundreds of years before Islam was even around, so if something referring to "the God" is localised in the Middle East, they would use "Allah".

Additionally, with regards to 進撃の巨人, I think the main problem is when the author made the title a sort of pun since it refers to both the advancement of the titans and the Titan that Eren had inherited, but this failed to translate well in English.

@Maiorem well I don't know Arabic at all, so thank you for the insight on that. But the thing is though when you use the name Satan there are connotations with it, you know the whole opposition to god and religious involvement and such. But 'god' isn't even a character in the story. In this story 'demons' are a literal group of physical non-human races. It's not like it's the end of the world or anything, but it's just annoying when there is a clearly more accurate rendition that like everyone knows and doesn't have problems in the language, but people just keep not using it.

why does it feel like the shadow at the end was a maou fangirl? I mean foreboding dark figure check, fangs check, claws that tear through stone check, menacing aura check...yet somehow...jealous fangirl aura while looking at demon lord and his little secretary lady?

I hope no game devs adopt Secretary's advice on endless loop of moving floor tiles. The only way of getting out of such trap would be to reset the game then. One wrong step is all it takes...

WTF is an "obstetrical" course? The course a baby takes during birth? I assume this is spellcheck gone wrong.

My favorite part was when that demon had to wait in the hall with a shame sign around his neck! The isekai joke was a close second.

@WillLi It's just preference most likely. It's faster to type and easier to typeset "Satan" than "Demon King/Lord". The word appears a lot so making it easier for themselves makes sense on the scanlator's part.

Edit: I forgot to add that as the Official English title is "Satan's Secretary" caters better to audiences outside of Japan when it comes to the concept of "Demon Lord/King" as the term Satan translates better and is more familiar with most people than Demon Lord/King.
