Pretty funny that this whole situation could be mitigated if Kuroka wasn't blind, since one look at Chastille's idiotic face and she'd know she's incapable of any sort of wickedness.

This manga's cast has wonderful family chemistry so I'm happy to see them doing just about anything, but I've kind of lost any connection to the goals of the antagonists and feel like I'm just reading to see growing interpersonal bonds or SoL moments. I hope they do something interesting with this clone-based existential identity crisis beyond having the gang say "you can figure out who you are, with us!"

Considering the title of the whole series, that's the main theme. Anything is else is just on top of it. Besides, we don't really know that much about the true antagonists. They are the real demons, which haven't had much of a role so far. It's suggested that the church and the sorcerers may need to work together to be able to defeat them. If that's the case, then Zagan doing what he's doing, awkwardly gathering a family and friends, is pretty essential for the larger story, seeing what kind of family members and friends they are.

To be fair, Barbatos was as douchy as anyone else born into the magical side of the world. But considering how much he has changed since, it seems to be more of a nurture than nature issue outside of the worst apples like the brat. Zagan is selfish and self-serving, but mostly because of necessity than by will and when given the chance to do the "right" thing, he did it even before getting married.
Still we have had an archdemon pool of two so far, if you can count Nephies' mother as one. Would be fun to properly meet the rest of the "big bads" and see if they are just eccentrics, who do as they please as some of the mages have been so far or are they all evil bastards like the brat?

Yeah, but it's just so cliché, and the way it's described it just comes across as racist. They have a group of characters who mostly do deserve being hunted down, so it would've been more interesting to not go with the same background you see everywhere else.

Well, I for one thought that her being clone was too obvious and that in reality she was the 13th sacred sword or whatever the secret of the swords was. Kinda like with the Tobi = Obito.
