The one-shot was great. The rest of this... well, I'm just glad that this didn't drag on any longer than it did, as the gimmick wore out its welcome quickly, like they typically do. I really did not like how the author made the Hero and Ren, for all intents and purposes, functionally retarded while all the women look down on them like the retarded morons they are (I've been tired of this trope for over 14 years now, and as time goes on, it only gets worse). That not only detracted from the fluffy feeling the story was trying to go for, it was also annoying as nearly all the "jokes" fell flat (like, how in the everloving hell can someone write manzai that I, who loves that kind of humor, almost never found funny?); especially Vetica, whom I got tired of really quickly. And it seemed that the author realized that (or got particularly strong feedback from readers/editor), too, because he suddenly toned down on her only a few chapters after her introduction.
I'm just glad it didn't drag on endlessly like so many other stories like this tend to and gave us a satisfying enough ending with juuuuust enough loose ends to keep people speculating and think about (like who Lolo actually is). Not a perfect ending, by any means (one of the reasons why I gave this a 6; above average), but still competent enough for general enjoyment. I didn't feel like my time was (completely) wasted on this. Plus, Mary was just so flippin' adorable, as with the designs of the rest of the female cast.
