magic imho is far more powerful than science. the problem with them having problem with plague like this is because they're not creative enough to find a solution, it's just brute force using magic, possible but not sustainable. they never try to actually find why and how those plagues comes from
i found this kind of thing in almost every fantasy novel i've read, of course it's all fixed because the mc had some form of memory from modern world

Hey, is it just me or does anyone else also think that Black Demon Lord's throne looks really plain and uncomfortable? And his throne room looks really bleak and dirty?

So I guess most of the Rigdolg religion guys are either dead or dying since the pliague was spread through them and that's why they've been quiet

Well, that was quick. Better than letting it drag on, I guess. Unfortunately, he can't treat Procell as a normal, which is why he finds himself being outwitted every time, or better still, outsmarting himself.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. But if that's the case, his first option should be a potential alliance, not war.
I guess they're trying to portray him as a typical conqueror. Always uses whatever force he can bring to bear to get what he wants. I recall Procell mentioning similar.

Turns out that a guy who came from another world with differnet knowledge also have knowledge for Diseases
damn shocking
Technically MC isn’t from a different world; it’s more of a lost civ thing, and he’s recreating stuff that HAD been made before, hence why he’s initially struggling with the white death since as explained, the world’s used to using magic to cure diseases, to the point that they have minimal info on the cause of the white death based on history (“memory of the stars”)

That's how it is for a lot of disease, especially newly discovered and/or it turns into a plague.

See: the mass reaction to Covid in early 2020 vs late 2021 (granted, early version of Covid was more aggressive and lethal)
Coving wasn't "solved" nearly as quickly, and comparing how people react to the first outbreak of something to how people react to the same thing later on doesn't make much sense for several reasons.

A plague doesn't care about the border, which means it is an enemy of every country.
Turn it around, if Avalon promises to help any country fight again such a plague, it's the same as Avalone becoming the ally of every country.
I mean just look at real life. Weaponizing a plague doesn't work. cough cough china cough cough

:nyoron: RIP covid and working from home. Black could have faced something similar to this threat, should his plague succeeded

That was Black's plan the whole time, Marco was supposed to be Procell's dog, her death would have driven him to the dark side, just like the Wings were supposed to, and the the death of his friend the other newbie demon lord.

This chapter had some Dark Souls references, Faraan dude in page 2 and 3 and a priest/cleric doing the DS2 miracle animation

CoVid actually solved itself...
That lovely high mutation rate ^ the sheer number of infected in areas where ...let's say any form of "control"... was impossible anyway, meant that the virus could iterate towards full human adaptation ( and as such far less Trouble..) in the shortest time possible.

Note that the spread of the new variants over those two years really means that all the measures in place were ...ineffective... ( to be polite..).
The vaccinations would have been effective ( and the economy a lot less down the drain...) if the vaccinated would have been allowed to go about their business as usual, actually further boosting their vaccination-induced resistance by slapping the Real Deal down if encountered, instead of being forced to be holed up letting that window of maximum resistance pass..

CoVid wasn't "solved" by anything Mankind did... It simply mutated to a Polite Form that has now taken the place of the hCoV beasties that were very much in place before the Scare, with about the same Embuggerance/Lethality ratio, which is zilch if you're not immunodepressed, very old ( which comes down to #1...), or throw that unfortunate natural 1/D10000 in Life™.
Which is why Sweden Was Right. They were one of the very few nations that tackled the whole thing relatively logically and effectively.

Arthur C Clarke’s third law, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” Magic is just science we don’t understand
