I think you’re missing the point of age limits, the girl is literally an older dude.

Well yes, but also no. The story explicitly points out from the word of the protag themself, that the memories, impulses and motivations of both lifetimes are equally real and equally experienced in the protag's mind, they're all blended up together to create a Synthesis of those two senses of self into one coherent person, there's a reason they keep switching from male to female terms to describe themselves, because both self-images are co-existing.

It is frankly fascinating existentialism, and something that a lot of reincarnation stories sadly lack... what this also means however is that someone who is at least in part a middle-schooler is getting entangled with an adult, and that is, (even allowing for the parts of them that is mentally older) still messy We even see this with how they behave, often like an impulsive child.

Otherwise they would be classmates and it would be so generic since that's always the setting. RiRi has to maintain an aura of mystery about her and needs to be apart from (F)MC to maintain that.

They don’t have to be classmates though. They could have been co-workers who just met each other after one got the job the other was working at. Making one of them a middle-schooler while the other is a full grown adult is just plain weird and illegal. It's doesn't even sound like a good plot, imagine all the drama that would realistically happen if they got together.

Exactly, The former demon king still has to balance and reconcile her two lives as well as struggle not to fall back into workaholic old patterns, it would work.

people are so quick to judge its insane. yea theres an age gap but like, its been 7 chapters! we’re still meeting the core cast of characters. its barely been a week in world, if even that.

give the author time to work out the story direction a bit before declaring something garbage. there is still a mountain of questions we don't have answered and ideas we don't even know the questions to be asking.

the japanese for that part of the title is Ri Ri Revenge (as in Riri’s name)

my guess is about how Riri gets her “revenge” on MC by pretending to forget her memories of the past life, so that MC won’t act in the same way as the previous life and will try to actively pursue her
