What pisses me off about this arc is the nerfing. Random merc shows up with power that would have been recognized by dragon and demon queens in an era where combat and magic are both diminished and is somehow not well known enough to prevent their admission as a teacher to others not withstanding, the f'n prince. To get this position would definitely mean collusion from someone at the administrative level high enough to not be questioned for a lack of vetting.

Guessing we'll get some nonsensical tragic backstory for the would-be assassin either next chapter or the one after explaining a grudge against a previous monarch that warrants killing the prince at this juncture.

MC is trained by the 2 strongest in the world to the point no one short of the hero who beat them would be able to beat him, loses to rando so that he can have a bullshit shōnen ass pull power up. These last 2 chapters have really lost me because he didn't get beat because of his personality (subconsciously no wanting to hurt someone) but because this random guy is somehow stronger. It's not even explained as just an experience issue.

It's a marvel that his jacket is still holding itself up, given that that bloodied cut should cause it to flap at least a little bit.

Nice that the author remembered that the MC should be powerful... Except, y'know, he still had to get his hyper special last minute reveal zenk-eye boost and pull out his giga sword to deal with some random shitass samurai.

I swear next chapter could have them going to eat lunch and MC would get his ass beat by a slightly too large entree. He'd then defeat it the chapter after by remembering the ultra special demon king stomach capacity upgrade he got from the demon king infusing him with her stomach acid or some shit. That's the level of writing we're operating at.

I'm guessing he got roped into doing dirty work for some noble, to keep a sick loved one on life support, and it turns out the noble has been poisoning the person the whole time.

Seems like backtracking over their own premise, since Dragon Queen was the peak of physical training, master of Qi-Gong technique, and now she just has some magical bloodline power-up that makes her OP.
