Given MC was supposedly originally shit before, if they would have dropped the training to something like 20 years, alongside the power infusion hes slowly waking up, it would be far more reasonable that he has issues with moderately talented adults.

Being recognized by godly beings for his growth after however many years should mean he can flatten anything that isn't at least part of the top 10 or so beings in the continent (since there should be some other godly beings, and their own disciples)

Only way I can forgive the “nerf” is that this would be the last ingredient he needs to be unstoppable ie real battle experience. Only thing this random merc has is battle experience and not having any hesitation of killing people even kids. If this is literally the last thing protag learns then sure, I can buy it. There better not be any more ass pull flash backs saving him from relearning things he already learned for hundreds of years again.

And seriously, at this point at least live up to the tag “Erotica” and show something, the cover art for this series is complete bait.

🤓☝️ It's obvious that this guy has a tragic backstory, which means the MC cannot kill him, but has to help him instead.

And of course, when he remembers the lesson Rio told him about not hesitating to kill someone if they try to kill you. What she actually meant was to not kill them, but instead beat them up very badly, heal them, and then ask about why they are doing bad things. (It's so dumb how he remembers the lesson and then doesn't follow the lesson he just remembered? 🤔)

Guessing we'll get some nonsensical tragic backstory for the would-be assassin either next chapter or the one after explaining a grudge against a previous monarch that warrants killing the prince at this juncture.
