So the fact remains after half a year the mc has clearly not solved his emotional trauma or could have handled this situation himself without the help of the 3rd female lead (or I guess 2nd female lead since the demon lord and dragon lord is tied for 1st female lead), MC being able to solve this "trauma" of his past by himself would have shown significant growth but since former childhood friend is still gonna try to act like bitch later on then I assume mc will have the chance to solve this issue himself unless author decides to continue trash the story and plot
I think its super sweet that the hero girl stepped up for her man. Like she realized that Rui clearly had some hesitancy towards the b**** and would probably have struggled to stand up himself. So she stepped up to show how much he means to her and that he never has to go back to that harlot
