Yep, everyone dropped this when official translation by Kadokawa catched up and went ahead of scanlation. But then Kadokawa dropped it just at 16/18 volumes progress :/ Reason was never announced iirc.

mostly my fault for trying to find it via "kotowaru" or "maoyu"/"maoyuu" rather than the english title. The full Japanese title also doesn't give it to me in the first few pages of google results

Its god damn Yen Press again. Don't pretend to be surprised.

The manga's sales tanked in the U.S. after Yen Press rushed the license, so they stopped translations and squatted on the license. AGAIN!

When will scanslators learn the lesson to ignore Yen Press? A lot of the younger upcoming translators are already learning the wrong lesson to ignore all licenses thanks to Yen Press repeatedly rushing to license and failing to deliver anything for years.

When they do release, it's literally google translated, it blows my mind people think these guys deserve respect or any courtesy.

There is a ton to like about this series but there is a lot of bullshit. The is no end of the grandstanding of some of the characters, and the interesting ones with clear goals and motivations that are well told and executed get shafted in favor of “mysterious character 309 needs to fuck around in the countryside thanks to the mysterious prophecy 512” and the reader just gets more and more frustrated because of the endless bullshit these characters get up to. I just want the hero to just fucking snap and go “what the hell are you guys even on about, fuck this, fuck you” and show the various thots around him the back of his hand until they start speaking sense.- kinda like what happened AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE MANGA.

At the end of the day. The world building is amazing, the side characters are great, and the main characters are bearable, but it’s really let down by a bunch of bullshit mystery that’s thrown in for no reason. 7/10

It started quite good but after the mc isnt even able to keep his promis and kiss the girl he loves, not even after a few years....
Reminds me of all the shounen shit.
And so many other shit. The army size at the end. The amount of weapons they produced in a few month and so much more....
No wonder that it has been dropped.
