Shit's been pretty damn hilarious and dramatic, and I don't really feel the whiplash of it going back and forth, either. Also, yeah, Shimada's been through a lot. Every so often they remind us he had a girlfriend that's moved on since he won't give up on a title, even though it seems just out of reach every time.

For reference, if chapters shift later due to volume release numbering being different, I'm commenting on the chapter that starts with Shimada's internal monologue about things he's lost due to the path he's chosen, with one panel focusing on that picture from home and what I assume is his ex-girlfriend on the far left with her implied son with the man she married since leaving Shimada... and it ends with Smith showing up and forcing his way into Shimada's home at the encouragement of the others already in his home for the study group.

I watched the anime, as well, and then read through from the very start (just in case there were any details different, or bits missing... but to be honest, I realized the anime was the more complete version of Chapters 1 through 89, plus the couple of other chapters squeezed in from later on, like Ch.97: Other Home)...

Very much a satisfying experience.

I also really hope the anime eventually gets continued with a few more seasons, once they can have a satisfying conclusion for them- where Season 3 would end, if it adapts about the same number of chapters as prior seasons, is right around when Nikaido collapses at that lightning tournament, and Season 4 after that would probably come in at some point before, during, or after the arc where Nikaido has his match with Rei in the last few dozen chapters (the arc titled Path ~Path~, which is such an odd title, to me)... So if it ends just prior to that, it'd be at the end of Winter Scent where Season 4 ends.

This also means we're well away from where a Season 5 might conclude- in fact, we're barely into it.

This is just chapter 191. I am deeply confused as to why chapters 195-201 are repeating the contents of chapters 188-193.
