Gotou's story keeps getting sadder and sadder. We first knew him at his worst, violently releasing all his frustrations on a younger Rei who unknowingly made hurtful comments about him.
I hope he can reconcile with the current Rei, and also resolve his situation with Kyouko in a healthy way: either reject her so she can move on, or properly date her. That would also help mending her relationship with Rei.

Kumakura got the perfect opportunity to safely vent his rage while protecting his family

I never thought that they'd make Gotou so sympathetic. Outside of the sisters' dad, or I guess the bully kid or the useless teacher kinda, he's the closest thing this manga has had to a villain. Kumakura's aftermath was so sweet and funny. He's always been one of my favourite minor characters, I loved seeing him eat slices of cake with his hands way back like 100 chapters ago, so I was happy to see this other side of him :)

She seemed like a nice woman so it's sad she died, but I can't sympathize with Gotou. At the end of the day, he still cheated on her with a teenager.
Was he actually sleeping with Kyouko? I don't know why but I always felt like it was companionship BC he was lonely rather than full blown cheating...still awful mind you especially with her age.

May his wife rest peacefully in story, poor woman deserves rest after so much suffering.

Being a superior player and getting to school some jerk smurfing and bullying kids would be ao cathartic. Such a cute chapter ending. 🥰

Assuming his kid isn't on par with how good Rei or Nikaidou were at his age, there's a chance that his son wasn't playing against an adult but just another child prodigy
