I agree- Hayashida-sensei would need a lot more growth before he'd feel like a good fit. Shimada's already a solid fit, especially with the revelation that his stomach pains can be soothed because of her- I was really worrying she'd have to fret over his poor nerves and stomach if they got together, just compounding her concerns instead of lessening them... But if that's no longer an issue, I say full steam ahead for Akari x Shimada, until Hayashida can prove himself worthy before anything comes of her and Shimada.

But, in the end... it's a matter of what Akari wants, not us readers, or even Rei. He may have the detailed analysis, but the woman's heart has a say in this, too, you know.

Shimada is better in every other way, but the teacher isn't going to die of stomach cancer as soon.

A bunch of chapters ago I'd have said Hina and Akari both marrying a shogi player would be no good, but since Hina said she doesn't consider Rei a potential love interest, I guess that leaves more room for Akari in that sense.
