Hina wants to share things with Rei. Rei wants to share things with the Kawamotos in general, but he definitely brightens up seeing Hina in particular, I think. These two are adorable and still unaware. Still awhile yet before they figure things out.
Though there's events before then where they grow closer in the coming months. And Rei gets to be a big dum for thinking he didn't do any good because he didn't produce a solution for a problem, even though he was very much helpful. Just being an emotional rock to rely on can mean the world for someone dealing with traumatic moments or even just memories. He's already kind of served this role before, though I guess he doesn't realize the full significance.
