I feel like the only reason why Okaya suspects of Nagare's parents is because Nagare's the only who actually died at their hands, and that coincidentally he encountered Nagare's dad during the investigation.

The guy is smart, I agree, but I feel it won't be that easy to find about Maria this easily.

They set up the ringleader kid as some sorta mastermind for Maria to have a back-n-forth can-n-mouse game with, and there's the detective father to complicate matters further, I am confident the author is absolutely gonna drag this out

Torturing the evil-doers first is nice and all but It's better to maximise the chance of success at revenge through any sort of early death. Therefore Maria should have just surveilled them and targeted when they were all hanging out with a bomb.
