Does Maria even have a backup plan? Sure last page says she can read him but external random factor is always present. Why didn't she just cut off one his achilles? That's overconfidence. Thankfully this is just manga and the author can just make her a mary sue
Unfortunaly we must wait 2 weeks for know that the author will resserve for that psycho. We just can hypothesize while waiting.
It is what I am going to do.
From last we knew and saw from Kinugawa before and while the chapter, he's very confident in his strenght and determination for defeat and kill his ennemy, in despite from handicap and injury, like he's attempt to beat Maria at chapter beginning. The slasher smile he's show in despite from arrow injury confirm this point.
Maria expression and her quote that she's read him like a book proves that she know what strategy employs for his inevitable demise.
So, from i know and i see, i established following speculation for next chapters about Kinugawa arc:
Maria plans to kill not only the psychopath, but also his pride and confidence about his skills, strenght, and value in friendship. she undoubtedly concocted a process that assembly multiples traps, arrows, and others dangers until Kinugawa will reduce to a defenseless and painful state, at point to pleads for his life and maybe sells his remaining friends for save his skin (remember that Kinugawa swears to Okaya that doesn't denounce them if he interrogated) , showing finally as the true pathetic hypocrite who is behind his strong figure. Maria will denouce him as a hypocrite and will mocks his value about frienship before she kill him.
From my experience to reading manga with a similar antagonist also theirs usual demise, it's that's the type of scenario that comes to mind for me. To see in 2 weeks for knew what the author has in store for us. I just hope that Kinugawa eventual demise will be cathartic.
