He has good instincts but he seems to be impressionable. That means he can be manipulated easily. We all know Maria is going to win in the end like every revenge driven stories. So there won't be any worry whether the main villain would win but 2 weeks for 19 pages is too long of a wait for this kind of story. It's good at building anticipation but I worry it can backfire if the rest of the 3 didn't get a satisfying end to them. Most of us love to read this for catharsis after all.

Guess we got the third victim of Maria's revenge, still it surprises me how Kinugawa has the most sense of friendship among the bullies considering he is shaped as the token brute.

All revenge driven stories like Genocider or Juujika No Rokunin will have the avenger go through tough shit. But the similarities between them are the same. No price is too great. Well at least that's how it was for JNR until they made him bond with the FMC. For this story, her weak point is probably the ex husband but I pray she is actually already insane where he is part of the price she's willing to pay

Yesss! I cant believe Im saying this, but its pretty smart of Maria to choose that route in this situation.

And like @schifferjack said with his characteristic. That seems to be working very well. Im going to make a wild guess that Maria is going to lure / manipulate him into her trap.

I also like we get to see Maria's drawback of her ideology of not putting off the witness here.

It is also very interesting we're seeing Maria's panel after he said "that's why the only thing left for me is to kill the killer", her face says hypocrite and it looks like a parallel since shes thinking and doing the same all the time. Given that he has some "heart" to care for something. Im very interested to see their banter later on. Especially since the other two was very unapologetic towards her son.

Surprised Bro cared about them. Man probably feels somewhat guilty for the girl. Since they got into an argument not long before she went missing. Depending on how much he saw her as a friend. It could be like when you wanna apologize to someone after an argument, and then you find out they died. So you live with the regret that your last words were an argument and you can never apologize.

Seems like not taking out Iijima when she had the chance is now a big weakness for plans, but like I said before, I respect not killing unrelated people even with the increased risk.

That crying move though, it's a smart albeit typical woman move that's effective versus most guys. Highschooler won't even have a chance.

I feel like token brutes being needy people is kinda a common occurrence in fiction. Like, they are too stupid to think for themselves, so they latch onto anyone who's there to show them goodwill and provide them with direction.
Not manga and not even Japanese example, but Gunther Hermann from Deus Ex comes to me as an example of a needy brute
