First, through text, it's not clearly evident that they're a couple, even with a classmate calling them lovebirds
He also refers to himself as her boyfriend and she doesn't deny it. But even then, why do you need the comic to out-right tell you that they're lovers (even though it practically does that anyway)?
Then there's the bizarre nonchalant attempt to murder said boyfriend which is disgusting
And he, and no one around hem, really cares - it's meant to be surreal and silly, it's comedy. Do you think that when Homer chokes Bart in the Simpsons, that it's meant to be a real depiction of child abuse?
Afterwards, even worse is the idiot's sudden realization that he's the Dragon reincarnation who she killed I guess
I interpreted it as him being another demon's reincarnation (one that helped in the past, but wasn't mentioned), and not the reincarnation of the creature that's escaped and is chasing them.
Along with the fact that she knew all along. Why the fuck did she not ever tell him?...
Maybe because they'd promised to get married and it's embarrassing?
Maybe because she needed to kill him later?
Maybe because she'd sound crazy if she told him he's a reincarnation?
It's a story, and you need to suspend your disbelief to some extent.
Although the whole kill him factor gets fixed since it would have always brought him back alive, but why couldn't he have known all of this beforehand?
I can agree with that, it's a plot contrivance for sure. I think it would have been better if he did die, and they remade the promise for next time.
These plots are irrational and awful.
So stupid. 3/10.
It's cool that you dislike the comic, in fact I think many of your points are reasonable, but I think by saying
"although translation may partly be to blame" crosses the line, especially when you have nothing to actually criticise the translators with, so you're just biting the hand giving you free food whilst bitching and moaning about how the free food could have been better.
You also need to keep in mind this is a one-shot, and more of a pitch to get the comic picked up rather than a fully fleshed out story. For example, the curse may actually kill him in the real thing, but because this was a one-shot and needed to end quickly, they chose to bring him back for a happy end.
For me, this was a high 6 or low 7 /10. It was an enjoyable and cute read.
Not everything has to be well though out and explained, cartoon logic is fine and fun sometimes.
