Very traditional household setting, but I guess it's still true in Japanese households. I still don't get the culture of having the wife quit her job (even if its a promising career) to be a full-time housewife, but then again, if they're happy about it...

man, i'd love ten pack eggs at 78 yen, even a singular carton would be a good deal on that lol

and, it's good to wash your hands after getting home but i'm surprised he wouldnt also at the end of the day before leaving for work , unless the train commute home exposes you to more germs even if you dont hold onto a handrail

While I'm not gonna try to claim that nobody exists who wants to be a full-time housewife and feels completely fulfilled and satisfied doing it, I think it's generally a conservative male fantasy and for most actual housewives, it's boring, stifling and mentally taxing.

To be fair, work for most people is "boring, stiffling and mentally taxing" so staying at home is objectiveIy bad only when comparing apples to oranges but if the breadmaker doesn't dismisses their spouse's dificulties on account of them "having it easy" and if the person herself doesn't compare only the bad of staying at home with ony the good of working, the levels of satisfaction go up.
Besides, no two ways around it: a larger workforce puts a downwards pressure on wages. (Though the japanese could probably use less overtime hours)
