I really hate "you can't gift this because it means that". No it doesn't. At best it's a marketing trick, at worst it's some doofus trying to impose random opinion loosely based on something irrelevant.

Scale for White Day return snacks is approximately like this:
  • Marshmallows - dissolves/go away easily, not something you want to represent your feelings if any
  • Cookies - safe bet for friends
  • Chocolates - when you want something more sophisticated
  • (Hard) Candy - lasts longer and more solid
Slight tangent for Kaoru Hana 120 Saku crushing candy on White Day doubles down on his dialogue for suppressing his feelings.

If you are talking about
I know.
Even knowing that, I wanted him to be punished in some way, but it's not going to happen. There will probably be a point of view showing that he's a good person. And there's a good chance they'll become friends. With the exception of characters who commit crimes, the asshole character is usually always forgiven. Even those who commit crimes are forgiven in some situations.

LOL luckily fruits combined with it doesn't seem to be a bad meaning, although it must be sucky if someone actually did like marshmallows but ppl avoided giving it to them b/c of the 'meaning' (kinda silly someone decided that meaning but that is a passive aggressive way to send someone an 'i don't like you' thing as opposed to a polite rejection, i do hear there are some flowers that mean 'contempt' too lol), if not some 'white day set' that comes with a bit of everything and just writing down on a card how you feel so ppl don't misinterpret it

I think it'd only be an issue if you purposefully gave someone something you know they're allergic to (tho i wonder if you would get arrested for food poisoning someone that way XD) Or some series where it's like "actually i have diabetes/sensitive teeth so i can't accept sweets" But it'd totally be cute if they had some outdoorsy campfire date where they had 'smores' together or so

I expected something else to be coated off-white, with a title like that.
They do that every other night practically ;P/I'm sure he got 'rewarded'

ehhhh
He liked her before knowing she was married and then just kinda longs for her. Plenty of people who like married people. He never does anything. It's not like he's trying to actively break up their marriage.

Sure, I meant more of "you can't gift 5 red roses on Mondays after dinner on full moon because it means you're gay, but not for her". But yeah, campfire dates are comfy.
