Nah, Helck is hell overrated, not bad, but overrated. Everything was telegraphed in a poor manner and characters were created only to die. Main story is so much better.

Berserk was actually partly retconed in Golden Age (as Miura explained in one of his interviews) but the shock value is indeed great.

This one managed to be sweet and great even though we knew exactly how it's going to end.
