Maybe it was the flashback arc that got a little tedious? I heard some people say that they would have preferred the series to focus on Rosalie.

idk maybe that flashback arc that took half of this series and MC being not really strong nor particularly smart and pretty forgettable. Overall author put himself in a tough spot when he did that flashback arc and Rosalie was 10 times more interesting and cooler than mc
