It's kind of weird, in my opinion, that Yang Kai and the great emperors went through all this theater to make it possible for Yang Kai to move to the demon domain. We even got the (fortunately) short depression arc. But if you look at Yang Kai now, his personality is 100% similar to what it has always been. So, what exactly did all that theater achieve? If it was to convince Ru Meng, it means she certainly didn't need all that much convincing. I suppose she would have been disgusted by her "job" during the infiltration missions, having her cultivation curbed and all that, so she would want to get back as soon as possible. But if that's the case, kidnapping Yang Kai much sooner should have worked. He would have been in the demon domain against his will, but if the point is to get him there willingly, then it means the theater was to make her believe he is now on her side. But doesn't being no different from how he was before the whole battle with Iron Blood Emperor go against this goal? He should at least act dark and brooding, more irritable, violent, and such. Like a man betrayed and driven in a corner.

But then again, like I wrote earlier, the demons really shouldn't be deep thinkers, so fooling them is like fooling children.
