The author disappointed me. Throw the established ship under the bus to get the original ship rolling.
I liked how the established ship was developing. I liked that its existence subverted expectations. I liked how the ship was ironclad.
But I don't like the author obviously caved in under reader pressure to sail the original ship. It is a dangerous precedent.
It is a wuxia thing to have the MC dip his meatstick in different flavored sauces, but I saw Martial Peak as a refinement of wuxia tropes not a rehash of those tropes. Catamarans are too much of a cliche power fantasy for this. The author should have better judgement.
And I know it was coming for hundreds of chapters now - but the way it transpired somehow disappointed me even more.
