In a way, getting someone like that in a more focused situation helps more, as it's easier to observe them.

The ending dialogue confirms he had no idea. It also shows how easy it is for someone who understands those types of disgues to pick them out. For all intents and purposes the MC at this point should be "vaguely" aware enough to at least get suspicious of those sorts of things. If not due to his pure hax then just all the training as royalty. Otherwise he's kinda screwed. The tool is hardly exclusive (a little expensive, but as said even that's not the best money can buy).

I thought the same, If the acts of terrorism actually succeeds (I dont think it will), how will Elena weasel herself out of that situation? She practically aided harming Ishtalica “because she loves her country”, same in the case it fails, she should be branded as a terrorist.

Yeah, she mentioned it before, she was also sent there to be the scapegoat if ever it succeeds, as the 1st prince's revenge for her meddling against his plans to get a certain company president's daughter. Then when Ishtalica demands an answer from Hyme, they will probably denounce her action and abandon her to be executed. But I believe Elena already has this within her plans and she might just defect to Ishtalica in a sense, just like her daughter. (I do think, their whole family is aware that Hyme is going to collapse sooner or later after all).

True - if she was denounced by her country she is technically exiled and her citizenship is technically also voided. She'd have nowhere to go and her families back home will also face punishment anyway. But yeah, I guess she already has a plan to stop the disaster from happening in the first place and she sure doesn't want to let Hyme prematurely collapse like that (especially it seems their royalty is also a big problem of their country)

My guess is that she probably already leaked info about the attack to the Ishtalica side, in order to protect her Nation, as while Ishtalica is forbidden from engaging in war, they are allowed to retaliate (and i believe that this notion is probably a common known one, as it's been practiced since the 1st King). And getting attacked by a big nation would surely destroy them.

Yeah - I also said this in a separate comment. They are only not allowed to do first blood but are justified to take due retaliation if ever. Not sure if other nations like Hyme know of this policy (or maybe they know since Ishtalica is quite highly regarded and a lot of people know of their culture), but it really is funny that a prince of Hyme himself is willing to take a risk like this, even if he has a scapegoat. I guess the royaltly of Hyme really liked to underestimate other people even if said people are evidently much stronger than they are. I just hope Elena will also have some plans to kick out the current royal family in Hyme; they technically are the ones causing grief in the nation.
