I reread the chapters to see if I missed anything and only found the guy having a slight blush effect. And I guess maybe you can interpret that as romantic, but he kinda has that same blush effect with every other character as well and has stated he likes only the childhood friend within the story and none of his dialogue feels like he has any specific interest in male MC.

So I don't really see the blush effect as anything romantic because of that or atleast don't find it to be intended so by the author.

So ultimately, I believe its more in the realm of headcanon than canon for him to be gay. Whatever the case I don't think we'll see eye to eye on anything beyond this so I think its fine if we end this conversation here rather than pointlessly rambling on.
