They did, pumped n dumped used knife skills to push the last panda member into the storm for the final koSo, they didn't do anything with the storm thing?
Author.
If you set up a checkhov's gun and put this much focus on it, you gotta actually fire it in a satisfying climax, not just let it lie there as if you never had it.
Probably not too obvious if you haven't played a certain battle royale game. Not all games have it, but it looks like melee attacks in this fictional game has a lot of knockback. Apex Legends has that mechanic that you might often see it being used to push downed or disconnected teammates into cover or inside the zone. So, they didn't do anything with the storm thing?

That's not at all a satisfying payoff, tbqh. They did, pumped n dumped used knife skills to push the last panda member into the storm for the final ko
Not sure what this means in relation to my comment, tbh. Wrong reply target?Probably not too obvious if you haven't played a certain battle royale game. I thought you were confused about the scene. It does look weird unless you've seen this done in an actual game. That's not at all a satisfying payoff, tbqh.
"Old man dies because he goes into the storm, as he didn't know that the storm was something intended to actually kill people, despite other people knowing it"
"A different character, who knew about it beforehand, kills someone by recoiling them into the storm"
That's not a payoff for the setup at all. This is like pointing out a gun and instead of that getting fired, a character falls down a flight of stairs after tripping over an entirely different gun.

No, I was annoyed about the bad use of storytelling elements. While I don't really play Battle Royale Games, I do know enough of the basics about them, not in need of an explanation, but thanks anyways, ig.I thought you were confused about the scene. I don't think how it went to be bad. Did you want the old man to be the one to use the storm? I thought him experimenting with it was to show the reader who may be unfamiliar with BR its mechanics. As a sniper, the way he would use it would be to pin a team down or shoot at teams running away from it. He wasn't really in a position to use that tactic. The enemy was invulnerable to bullets, lol
True, didn't notice the knife payoff. Though the entire thing really wasn't that well-executed and could've benefitted from the characters actually coming to the conclusion properly. There's 2 payoffs here. The storm one is kinda crap yes but the other arc has been pumped n dumped having to quit over knife nerf. Her killing panda leader using both the knife and the storm does make it a semi okay payoff.
It's only day 1. Let's see if it comes up again
