But if you want some pike'ing by the Author of this series, maybe it's better to check the other series by Author, namely the "Kraken" one.

I feel Ren will barely hold onto the commander position. Just enough that her position will be pretty weakened.

I think she will win but will fall into the god's trap, so she will relinquish her position probably to Kyouka and have a personal crisis. At least that's the most obvious path set up by the story so far. I want to be proven wrong, though.

Honestly, the moment we are first introduced to Ren; this was inevitable. Ren operates on a "my way or the highway" basis, with the highway leading to the grave. Even early in the series (before we're even introduced to Ren), it was speculated by both Kyouka and Tenka that Ren, as commander, was possibly collaborating with the Onmyou Agency (or at the very least aware of their actions and experiments and condoned it). And since Kyouka already made it clear that she dislikes some of Ren's approaches as commander and seeks to take the position herself, and Ren herself is unwilling to give up her position or her methods, conflict was bound to erupt between the two.

As for Ren's underhanded tactics, it's to be expected, and I'd even say within character, when her usual method of using brute force to make other submit failed. I'd say that barring the extreme (such as killing Kyouka), Ren's likely willing do almost anything to ensure that she wins the elections and/or remove Kyouka's chances of winning.

About Ren, I still like her the most aesthetically (except maybe fubuki).... but her character is really not it....
