I don’t know if it’s already been said here but I can’t believe how much Ren is giving Makima vibes. The boss bitch persona, op power, and love of dogs…I really enjoy both characters though. The best part is seeing cracks in their armor or when they loose their cool.

Welp, can't wait to see Ren fall in love with mc. Seems like it'd be a pretty amusing plot development

man what a nothing burger... for what feels like 6 volumes of behind the scenes corruption and tenka going undercover to reveal it all turns out to be no shocking revelation or drama point among the chiefs.

I really don't like this woman... I wanna see her get absolutely destroyed and crying after she looses, but she might just get violent...

So they try to use them as weapons too? For sure they wont use it for good...

I bet Ren mistook Tenka referring to her and not Yuuki. Wouldn't be surprise if it is considering her personality.

Ren had an entire essay and plan prepared in her head long before this situation came up, with answers to every possibly damaging question, and sweet words to keep her in a positive light. She's terrifyingly clever, but damn, Tenka is absolutely unfazed all the same. She's got her eyes on the prize, but those eyes aren't looking up, they're staring downward with a vicious hunger!

Thanks for the translations as always!

Considering this whole confrontation about the experiments, and all the spying by Tenka and how Kyouka was going to become Commander to change all of this, has been building up since like the 6th volume, that seemed like a very limp and lackluster way for all of this to finally pay off. It basically just got brushed aside like nothing.

one of the beat manga ever! hyped everytime a new chapter comes out! rebuild world and this manga are top one on my list…
Rebuild World enjoyer spotted in the wild
It's crazy how underrated Rebuild World is for a manga that has insane worldbuilding and overarching plot. Only 55k followers in almost 6 years of running. The LN is practically unknown in terms of popularity.

Enough waffling about Rebuild World (tho people should really read it), I'm starting to warm up to Ren as a character. Finding narcissistic personalities in Japanese manga is really hard, most of them are portrayed as comically evil. I really really like complex narcissistic characters like Makima, Gojo, Aizen etc. I see myself in them. But among billions of manga, there are only a handful of those character. There needs to be an influx of characters like that and less generic garbages spotted in most Japanese manga.

yeah, every time a new chapter comes out I wonder why it isn't more popular. It's so good. The art in the first chapters is very neat and the story is really interesting and always leaves me guessing what happens next. Maybe it gets more popular when the anime comes out...

Well so much for their uh, trump card? Well dodged on the other party's part. Only time now until what's really going on there gets revealed. I was kinda hoping Ren didn't know anything about this, bit disappointed now. Ah well.

Answers that "make sense" from a political situation like this just means answers that "smell like excuses from a mile away but which I can't really refute"

Not gonna lie, it's hard to hate someone with this much confidence in themselves even when it looks like they're fucking up (being the hottest character in the manga helps). Still, Ren needs to get humbled during the election (even if there's zero chance she actually loses) so she actually takes the threat of the Gods of Thunder seriously.

You know, with this arc coming to a climax in 20, maybe 30 more chapters, what do you figure is coming next? Are they gonna invent some more gods for the MDF to fight? Will they end the manga early?

The thing is, WHAT they told was the truth. Tenka did state that she interviewed the prisoners and verified this, especially the part that the prisoner’s treatment got better. So it’s not that they just claim they “were going to do the right thing”, they actually did for some issues. This actually gives their words credibility.

The grandma saying that it makes sense, doesn’t really mean anything, because their explanations did make sense.

The issue are the hypotheticals and the unsaid things, neither of which the chiefs can really make strong arguments about.
Things got better when everything was threatened by Yuki's sister's escape, they were in danger of being found out and to iron things over started treating the prisoners with humanity, the Onmyou agency started behaving as a result of a blunder, if not I stand by my supposition that they'd do what most experimentation labs do in the world, use the subjects to the limit and dispose of them after. The notable proof of that I'd say is that they were being concealed from they family and everyone else on the organization, that's the best way to have free reign on what you do with something, there's no reason to believe any of their arguments, in fact the mangaka makes them look extra suspicious while explaining themselves and even on their thoughts, why'd you feel the need to argue even against what the author is representing? I know he's not implying they'd be culled after experimentation but it sure as hell doesn't look like he's representing people with integrity that'd do the right thing. . .
It also shows naivety or worse disingenuity on your part to be so willing to accept what some organization who hid things is saying, if it's the former be careful, you'll get used and tossed on the outside world, if it's the latter, please don't make me waste time reading arguments you don't believe in.
