"maximum size for this upload session" something something

Solution
no they are not. the pages are below 20 and 10000

and this sounds like utter lunacy. like, some chapters are 18 pages long, this chapter is 70 pages long, and let's assume a chapter that is 200 pages long. so all three cases have the same limit? you get 1mb per page in a 200 pages chapter, which is like 144p and overcompressed artefacted to death, in the age when everyone has 65" 4k screens. there's already a per-page limit, that's enough. and also it's meaningless because the servers accumulate all the pirated content they can, if i cut a chapter into 10 pages 20mb each chunks i upload as much data as i only want, it's just poorly split in the reader-faced interface into nonsensical chapters, when in fact all the pages are from...

and your offer on top of that all is to ai slop all of that into 100% black and 100% white, boost all the artefacts and use max contrast to destroy human eyes with direct light

ai slop doesn't magically restore already lost information
No AI involvement needed. Just plan old image correction techniques that have been around longer than you have probably been alive.

And you are right it's not restoring data. How image leveling works (over simplified) is that you give it a couple of color ranges and say "all pixels that are in this range should be [insert color here] and all pixels in this range should be [insert another color here]" and the application goes through and updates the pixels. This makes it so your faded black becomes black and your aged yellowed paper becomes white again (or at least less yellowed).

it's all still digital approximation algorithms
half my relatives work in polygraphy. incl the pre-digital one

that makes it so antialiased edges become aliased. and to begin with you suppose that i should dislike off-black and off-white. it's not yellow like the scans of the magazines, it's just off-white. not everyone loves harsh blue temperature light blasting at max setting

You can always change your monitor settings...

Also you don't have to level to pure white.

Also also, subjective.

Anywhom, you have been given a lot of information on how to improve your output, with and without maintaining your subjectively "better quality". The limits in place are reasonable and allow for high quality work if even a little bit of effort is put in.

Putting aside your subjective opinion about how digital manga should look, MangaDex is an ad-free website managed by a few people in their free time. It's not gonna be perfect, it can't have infinite storage space.
Just deal with it- or upload your "perfect scans" to your own website.

the thing is you didn't even look at what is discussed. the images in question is #ffffff it's not even slightly yellow
and then you know i'm the one who does charity work for free so other people profit off of it

or you know you can change your monitor settings

the limits per each page are absolutely reasonable. i'm more than 50% below them. the limits per chapter encourage abuse and loopholes
