You both missed the point, she's alluded to be Morgan le Fay (or related to), literally Morgan the Faerie. Elf/Alf, in kanji, means the same as faerie (there's the light alf and the dark alf, technically they are all alf, but that's mythology for another time).

Haggis, as we know it in modern times, is different from high medieval period surrounding king arthur. It was a common style of dish throughout Europe (and I wouldn't doubt, the world) since organs go bad very quickly after killing an animal, so huntsmen and such cook them in similar fashion, especially if they didn't have cooking utensils with them. Avalon didn't have an exact "origin" (since albion is brought up, avalon here is referring to the mythical place where king arthur was laid to rest), her saying those words about those countries make sense since it's all the same from her point of view. What DOES intrigue me is how she said "the two countries have been friends", I'm half expecting hokkaido version of elves to pop up, or any number of the japanese folklore having a twist (ie. japanese elves and European elves were one and the same, or branches of the same family)

It would be more practical to assume that having knowledge of potatoes (and specifically shepherd's pie) strongly implies Lefay was around for a lot longer than medieval times before getting isekaied. There's no question that potatoes can "taste like home" for most, if not all, modern day Europeans.

Her name Lefay may have nothing to do with Morgan, just that she literally goes by her species' name. During the period associated with Arthurian legends, the common tongue of the region was French (if memory serves). It's entirely possible in the setting for Saburou's world, there are hidden places outside the view of humanity like the Isle of Avalon. So like all the mythical places of our world really do exist in this manga, but y'know humans be ignorant. And Lefay here just got isekai'd from a hidden part of Saburou's Earth to the world the two of them are in now. As a fae, Lefay could easily have been around for many centuries making her fit into both Arthurian times and modern enough times to know of Japan. Or the other explanation of places like Avalon supposedly having time flow differently than the outside world.

@Athengrim From what I read, there is a theory that the monks of a monastery there slid it into the legend to gain popularity into the area and for more followers to join them. It's like how Disney makes their own versions of fables, and now when you hear it your mind immediately thinks of the Disney version.

on p.19 she says she's from Avalon, and and she's named after the enchantress Morgan le Fay, both are important in Arthurian legend. Avalon gets used a lot whenever writers want somewhere both magic and British, I think it's normally more associated with fey but elves aren't to much of a stretch. So I think she's just meant to be an elf from earth.
