@nep While that makes a degree of sense, in almost all of those cases they just get told it and then...just believe that's the case and don't try looking, or hell even grieve a little about it. Like i'd be spiced if I was told i had to live in a different house let alone an entirely different world/universe, and dudes don't go "Oh damn I miss the internet. I miss my favorite book series." etc.

Like i get it's wish fulfillment and all that but damn if folks are just ignoring some bargain basement easy to spin drama and character opportunities in favor of...uh...I dunno, generic elf waifu #250925029?
