More specifically, it's flagging the domain we use to serve images from as suspicious.

It's not.

Stop using McAfee, it's terrible, and it's literally hijacking your connection in this case.

EDIT: Copying and pasting my longer explanation;

A message specifically for Americans on Comcast/Verizon/CenturyLink;

If you're getting an error message about your connection not being private, or that Mangadex has an incorrect security certificate, or a big McAfee page coming up when you try to access the site, read on.

McAfee is MITMing you and attaching their certificate, so Chrome (correctly) thinks there's an attacker intercepting your connection, and warns you. Nothing to do with us, fuckall we can do it about it.

Turn off McAfee, it's either on your device, your ISP's router or somewhere buried in your ISP's settings. Comcast, Verizon and CenturyLink all appear to be doing this.

@BraveDude8 It's worse than that - a fair number of ISPs (including mine) have started routing their customer traffic through McAfee services. I was able to disable it in my router settings, but the fact remains that they turned it on without asking.

Here's the infopage for the CenturyLink implementation: https://www.centurylink.com/home/help/internet/secure-wifi.html, but don't believe the part where they claim it only happens on routers they lease - I own mine but they injected it anyhow. On CenturyLink modems, at least, you can disable it by navigating to the advanced configuration settings, going to the Cyber Security setting and turning it off. (UPDATE: This stopped working after about 12 hours. Thanks, CenturyLink, I hope your board of directors is eaten by goblin sharks.) I've also seen people who have Verizon providers with this same problem, but I don't know how to turn it off there.

TL;DR: A lot of the people seeing this message probably don't even know that McAfee is behind it and never signed up for it. A newspost may be in order. I've provided the steps for CenturyLink users to opt out but I can't help with other providers.

As an extension of the aforementioned issue, the unwilling addition of McAfee malware software occurs when people use routers provided by their ISP as ISPs are able to update the router firmware.
(Also, apparently some rumors have come up that it makes its way back onto routers some way or another. I have not personally experienced it, but I've seen it magically reenable itself on normal PCs.)

For Verizon users, here's a link with various fixes.
