Wait so we won't go into it. Yeah i get it now, that insatiable yearning to know what the fuck is in there. When you have a beach episode and the most suggestive thing is a door. And they can't bury it because of the hope that those people will return. What an episode.

Its interesting how an outsider to the Underworld pointed out the obvious that all the Residents were avoiding in regards to why they didn't cordorn off the door if it was so dangerous and practically suicide to enter.

Here is the thing if the 2nd squad had cut their own rope wouldn't it be better that the 3rd attempt is made by having a rope that can't be untied by the person attached and uncuttable? That way you can force the person to return? But I guess the author has planned for that door to be an instant death trap no matter what.

I was even thinking about a chain rope made of people just linking hands together and when something happens to one then you can relay it to the person closest to the exit but alas :aquadrink:

Yeah, this is the end result of any attempt to rationalize or understand the door. It kills any possible discussion. When every end result from every possible hypothesis is "no, you die, author basically said so," there's no point in trying. It's easier to move on to the next thing.

Wow, that is honestly unexpected, but i really like it.

Introducing something as impossible and keeping it impossible is super rare, to the point where I can't actually think of another example of the top of my head. If the author actually leaves it like this, which seems to be the plan, that would actually be amazing.

Part of me was thinking that the teams were cutting their own lines to stop whatever is on the other side from going through the open door. Leaving it without an explanation feels like being blue balled, but the story is better with a "we just dont know and are afraid to find out" ending

Any blacksmith capable of forging weapons could easily forge a chain or a cable that can't be cut through, but I suppose they excluded that idea on purpose to keep this particular story short and sweet.
Personally I would have preferred if they kept going and sent someone in with a metal belt attached to a chain instead of a rope, but less is more sometimes I guess.

Fuuuucck, this manga so traumatizing.

So.. that's door basically a "mouth" in a shape of a door. It mind controlling whoever entered that door and eat them.
So... why not try with an iron chain instead of just a rope???

I think the problem with that is that the actual problem of testing it, aka having someone with that rope walk through the door, and I don't think the people in the town council are evil or ruthless enough to force a beggar or some criminal to do that.

They had someone with the intention of walking through the door, "the geriatric" being a fool instead of doing the chain thing just said -Please no

I bet for more of a "illusion" so nice that you decide to leave your past life behind

Man that last shot. Was it truly his mother or just an illusion before the inevitable death? Guess we'll never know
