Look, I also really like honey (especially in my tea), but I'm not sure the author is aware of how unpleasant it is to swallow a spoonful of honey. Although it first tastes sweet, it quickly becomes overbearing, hard to swallow and sticks into your throat...

When I was a kid, I was told that medicine capsules are made from seaweeds. I am not sure if this is true.

Manufacturing materials​

Gelatin capsules, informally called gel caps or gelcaps, are composed of gelatin manufactured from the collagen of animal skin or bone.

Vegetable capsules, introduced in 1989, are made from cellulose, a structural component in plants. The main ingredient of vegetarian capsules is hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose. In the 21st century, gelatin capsules are more broadly used than vegetarian capsules because the cost of production is lower.

On page 22 the two plants depicted “Grycerul” and “Selatin” are fantasy plants referencing the two primary ingredients used in plant (glycerin or glycerol) and animal (gelatin) based capsules respectively

I’m not 100%, but the seaweed thing is probably because certain species of seaweed are a natural source of agar which is very similar to animal-derived gelatin and is often a plant-based substitute for gelatin

On doing a little more research the seaweed thing is because certain seaweeds are natural sources of carrageenan which like glycerin is a gelling agent

gelling agent (carrageenan or gelatin) + plasticizer (glycerin) = the soft plasticky capsules that we’re familiar with
