i mean, it's one thing if it's set in the 80s, but other than him being so upset it 'leaps' him again to where he can't question ppl around him/get cctv from the cops, there'd at least be one person with their phone out to take a quick pic/vid , but i understand ppl unless they don't give a shit if they die themselves, just tackling themselves to the ground

like if a robbery happened, i can imagine someone not necessarily stopping them but suicidal/uncaring enough to be like "just shoot me, i figured i was gonna die soon anyways" or so lol

Then again, this is exactly what happened with Shinzo Abe. Not a single person in the crowd - INCLUDING HIS OWN BODYGUARDS - tried to stop the killer, nor take a picture of him. The whole case just got solved instantly simply because the guy effectively surrendered because he had a message to send.

A similar incident happened irl from where I am. Trigger warning in case.

An individual suddenly stabbing a random person. Happened at multiple public locations within the same city. There were stabbings in different locations with close timeframe so its speculated to be done by more than 1 person, but as usual it was a cold case.

A leaked CCTV footage showed a person getting stabbed multiple times and people were screaming or just running away.

The shock from seeing someone get robbed or get punched is different from seeing someone literally die/murdered.

It can really trigger your instinct to protect yourself and run away as its way more severe and dangerous. People will be afraid to get involved and possibly killed too. It'd be fortunate if someone can jump and have a fight response, but most are likely to trigger the flight response.

Welp given that, this chapter gave me a weak impression of the author's writing. Hopefully next chapter is better.
