@Qwertyfox I think it's more of a complication issue. If it's just a gun-less brawl with casualties, the cover up would be infinitely cleaner than a fire fight in the middle of the city (since fire arms are illegal over there, it would lead to the investigation about the source of the weapon). Plus bare hand fights are just cool to look at you know.

Theres kind of like a code with gangs and the police. You don't open fire in a public area or you stomped by the police, you don't attack innocent (non poor) people or you get stomped by the police, thats just how it is. The general public barely bats an eye at a gang war if its all fists and melee, but if they find out that guns are involved suddenly everyone is freaking out that theyll get murdered in their homes. Police frankly don't give a shit if you're beating up other gang members though, means less gangs for the police to deal with

@Qwertyfox They do probably have some, but they dont normally use them. Organized crime in south korea traditionally fights hand to hand against each other, at most with knives and stuff, the government cracked down hard on them in the 1990s.
Not going around killing rival gangs or shooting public places up lets you go under the radar, so even something like that, were they really want to kill someone, isn't very common.

@orangebookair No you dont... Wtf man? The statistical chance of getting infected if someones blood slatters directly into your eye/nose/mouth is 0.1% (IF that someone has an HIV infection in the first place, which is relativly rare in south korea...)
