I think this series try too hard at depict MC as a psychopath. I actually like the demon king more.

Heh, if only MC is just half as good as Saitama in one punch man, simple but interesting. No need to be overly complex to be an interesting MC.

I just feel this MC as a try hard to be an antagonist though. He want to survive, sure, but he is not really make full use of his power to become stronger. He doesn't even be careful enough when he knew about the existence of god.

He feel lackluster and half-baked somehow.

Even in the category of try hard to be a cool character he get beat in every sense by Cid Kagenou in imminence in the shadow. Yeah, Cid is simple, not an overly complex character but dude is interesting af.

scared? struggling? The previous summoning was a relatively normal, "getting summoned by a king," and then he gets put in a situation where he would die if he did not get summoned again. That is at least what I think a normal person would do in that situation.
