I may be the odd one, and this is me randomly shitting this out to the void, but I wish one of these sci-fi mango will pull an android that has severly less facial features, like:

I honestly find these to be "cuter", and also "feels like an actual artificial lifeform", and not like a person dressed as a maid.
I really dislike the idea of trying to make "AI human", it's a seperate thing that should remain separate. You can still treat it nice, it can still have all the bells and whistles of an emotional, cognitive programming -- but it's not going to be the same, and it should reflect that.

Androids by design are supposed to be human-like. There are combat robots that they fight against and with, repair robots the twins use for working on ships, and alien robotic creatures.

Yes, human-like can also mean: "Everything about them looks human, but the head."
An android does not necessarily need to mimic human facial features, as well.
...Well, I may be wrong about that categorically, maybe that is the hard definition of an android? Either way, that wasn't really the point.

TLDR: I mentioned the maid specifically, becase I think that if you have any form of machine with artificial-intelligence of some sort -- it should never end up looking like a person.
This is, of course, due to no grander reason other than personal philosophy and preference.

P.S:
For anyone wondering, Mei as an android, is fully capable of getting pregnant.
....And because of shit like this, I double-down on: "If your robot looks and FUNCTIONS so much like a human, that they might as well be a very capable human / cyborg, then you shouldn't even have them play the part of 'a robot'". :|
Getting preggers? Bloody kidding me?
I mean, sure, enough advanced technology and such, whatever, but...Narratively? Really? Why?
God damn it, Japan.

Those look like combat bots and guess what (spoiler) he's gonna get some combat bots later on.

I probably wouldn't prefer the more robotic structures as you've outlined, but I also get quite frustrated where sci-fi have AI of some kind that's essentially just people, but totally different we swear. The reality is "AI" as we have it now is it not and never will be what's depicted here. No matter how advanced it gets, it's code running on a computer. Code that's really just such an advanced form of text-prediction (like typing on your phone) that it becomes a great example of "sufficiently advanced technology becomes indistinguishable from magic" (look into the term "stochastic parrot").

These fictional kinds of "AI" would only be possible through a non-digital means; blade runner style replicants or an entire artificially manufcatured lifeform; brain along with sensory systems to allow it to interact with the world (an engineering problem completely separate from modern computing with 0s and 1s). The only artificial part is how it's created at that point, but it also means all these portrayed advantages like having the processing speed of a highly-advanced CPU couldn't possibly be the case.

I try to just ignore it and see these characters as superhuman cyborgs since there's too many enjoyable things I'd have to avoid if I couldn't. But when an author who clearly isn't informed on the issues tries to dig deeper and just throws random technical jargon around to justify "the digital AI is really just like us, guys!", or too often has the character break established behaviour to have things like "I'm an AI, I don't understand my feelings" moments as if they've just remembered the character isn't supposed to be a normal person only to immediately forget it again after, I can't really enjoy it anymore.

She has an artificial womb capable of reproduction.
No, no, bullshit, no, I don’t buy that. Does she have digital DNA? Did they back-engineer it off of her physical appearance, which is impossible, and no I won’t let it slide under the heading of “sci-fi space magic” because what if the customer selects something that standard human anatomy can’t reproduce, propotions-wise or anatomy or even a non-standard skin, hair, or eye color? (Tell me nobody’s ever bought a gynoid with blue hair, I triple dare you.) Are their offspring baseline human, or do they inherit some of the gynoid’s enhanced physical or mental capabilities? If it’s the latter, and I’d bet money it’s the latter, how did they encode that into the DNA, given that those capabilities are explicitly mechanical in nature? And if they can do that, why are they building the droids at all? And why don‘t we see natural humans enhanced through gene therapy?

I will not get off this hill, I don’t care what a dork I’m being, and in conclusion I’d like a chocolate Frosty and a large fries, thank you

Well that's because the point of an android is to imitate a human.

Those pictures you linked are better classed as humanoid robots; resembling the human form but not imitating human function.

MC has already slept with Mei, as shown in Chapter 34.1.

And along with Mimi & Elma, he regularly takes bath & sleeps with Mei as well.

Though Manga doesn't mentions or hints it. Same with Mimi & Elma to, probably because of publication restrictions (Manga only covered their first bed time, and ignored other times).

Iirc the WN version does allude to sexy times happening, but never goes into graphic details, also (I think) due to site publication restrictions since the WN is released in the general/all-ages side of Syosetu.

Smutty ones exist, but I think they can only be released in the site's age-restricted sections.

Mei may be degrading her emotional intelligence and what not, but to me it honestly seems they, the androids(?), have reached the same level of complexity as our biological bodies are. though i am uneducated about the matter, just a thought.

as always, thanks for translating and posting it here. :)
we humans also doesn't fully understand about ourselves, we just run on "belief". who are we to say about the matters?
honestly, looking at these machines approaching to be "human" makes you start to learn about yourself as a human as well, makes you grow the same as with interaction with other beings, feels like you grow to value "humanity" more
