Not to mention he's not carrying a behelit on him, so recklessly touching the daughter of a high-ranking noble is not wise. While it's not a medieval society with women being mere chess pieces for arranged marriages, they are experts with careers, it actually still is medieval because the nobles apparently are free to kill commoners if they believe it's justified.
