He's pretty much up-to-date with the Manga releases if you look for the raws in the Japanese shop.

Really hope the anime does not skimp out on the more intimate moments between the characters or exaggerate the behaviour too much.

I though they axed this series but thankful it not. Manga is like a degenerate isekai but the premise make it interesting to keep reading

Now just waiting for this to be made into an anime... It'd be easy for them, even using cheap CGI for the ships. Or go old school with drawn animations like Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star. That'd end up making this series a golden child of the new age.
