I think the problem is that Mieruko is too good at waking up spirits that could've gone another hundred years without bothering people. So he might potentially do something drastic to her.

Presented early on as a good guy, but will either use his methods to exorcise any ghosts he comes across (such as her Dad who’s an innocent), or he might use her as a tool or bait thanks to her power. The story often presents characters like the teacher and the sister as initially seeming quite cruel and shady, only for the protagonist to learn that they’re damaged individuals with good intentions. So wouldn’t be surprised for the same thing with this guy wanting to do what he thinks is right, but at any cost due to a past mistake he’s trying to never let happen again.

That’s at least my guess for where they’d go with it. Or maybe the author just says fuck it, dude’s pure evil.

That's a very minor but interesting plot twist; being unable to see them. It's like the antithesis of the MC, who can see everything clearly but is unable to do anything about them.

Interesting, kinda seems like he can hear spirits? He seemed to react when the bookmark ghost screamed.

I think he's "lawful" but not good in the sense that he has no empathy for harmless or friendly spirits like the cats or Miko's dad.
Gonna be trouble when he encounters tentacle girl...
