I honest feels so bad for these people and just the people In the sex work trade especially if they have disabilities nost people know how bad the work is and know the customers don't give a fuck about them. But to the ones who can be used by people for whatever, it's deeply sad. And I usually give no fucks about people on general, but knowing this happens in the day to day lives of people we know or people we don't, it's sad their is isn't an absolute way to help them

I think part of the point of the series is that she probably did (she mentions having tried a bunch of other jobs in Chapter 1, for example), but that everybody she ever ran into either didn't know how to make the case that she she should choose that other thing, couldn't be bothered to make the case, or actively didn't want to make it. I'm guessing Yamada would like to help, but basically doesn't have a clue.

(I have no idea what any of the mangaka's conversations with the real-life Mii-chan were like; you would think she must have wondered "Wouldn't you be better off doing something else", right? But all I saw last time I looked was a post on her X account where she says straight up "The author is in no way Yamada, lol". 🤷‍♂️ )

If that was Muu who was found dead that was really sad. She finally wanted to change her life and was starting to be treated like an equal unlike a tool. I can also see it that she didn't relapse but was forced into a position.

Pretty sure all the flashbacks are to Mii-chan, given the end of the first chapter makes it very clear that it happened and it's referred to multiple times after that - I don't think there's supposed to be any suspense about who it happened to, just Yamada's guilt as she wonders if she could have done something and (I'm guessing) ultimately some kind of reveal of who did it and why. (FWIW there's nothing to do with that in the raws yet. When I sent this in to be added to MD I even thought of using the "slice of life" tag but ultimately thought nope, people expect that to be nice and cosy, right?)
