What's the twist I really don't need anymore traumatic manga in my lifeThat's a god damn twist, assuming you didn't see tags.

Lol, my brain didn't put it together apparently or pay attention. I just didn't expect it so abruptly. Probably will avoid the series, as I can't really enjoy tragedy (it's like NTR to some, though angst I can get behind).Hint: think about what the first two pages are showing.
No, seriously, I sympathise - I thought for quite a while about whether to do this one because of that final image, but after skipping ahead in the raws and reading some interviews with the creator I thought no, she's not just using horrible tropes for the hell of it or anything, is she? It's still pretty shocking, though, I agree, and made me feel... not great, a few times, working on it.
I might be wrong on this but - weirdly, from what I could gather, the original version in the Twitter manga is very different and pitches it as a girl-girl romance of sorts? It still has a tragic ending, but it's a different plot device altogether.
Just to reiterate, there doesn't seem to be any sign of an actual relationship between Mii and Yamada in the raws so far. No idea how long she's planning to run this version of the story for, mind you, or what it might change into before the end. The previous version went on for quite a few volumes (though I haven't checked to see how long each one actually was) and from what I could work out it did have them as a couple of sorts. (I might have been reading certain bits of MTL wrong, though.)This reminded me of Adabana or a tragedy yuri in the vein of gardens of gehenna
Yeah, that's why my primary example was Adabana (which isn't a yuri either). That said, despite the lack of a relationship they have a similar dynamic to a lot of tragedy yuri's. One's where the main motivation isnt love but a desire to comfort/hide eachother from the circumstances of life.Just to reiterate, there doesn't seem to be any sign of an actual relationship between Mii and Yamada in the raws so far.
