i guess its trying to create a type of new yokai? or maybe ive just never heard of them before. the only one that is close to this would be a nekomata but they typically have upwards of two tails. kitsune dont work either cause, well, theyre foxes

This is cute.

I like how they use the cat analogy as a way to reflect a person feel a lot relieved and well kept whe they have one.
A cat girl gives an extra attraction to the plot too :wooow:

Thanks for the translation.

How can they do what we want them do to now if she turns into a cat at night. Hers won't be big enough for him then. :meguuusad:

I don't really get his reasoning about her not staying with him cause it's dangerous. Normally when manga guys say that, it's like "I'm a single guy, what if I go crazy with lust and rape you?!" but here he's like "there are times when I can't come home, you better stay with a woman instead". So is he like saying, it's dangerous for her to be home alone, cause like, someone could break in and attack her? If so, how does staying with a woman help? She probably won't be there all the time either, and even if she were, she'd be less likely to be able to protect her from a home invader. Is there a translation issue or am I missing something?

Gonna be honest, I deeply relate to that guy's closing line. I've usually had at least one all-black cat around for most of my childhood/teens.

"I will improve your quality of life.” Nicer words could not have been said.

He just started reciting those old lines/common sense, but he couldn't quite take it all the way to declaring he might do something to her. Too embarrassing and he ought to realise his own personality well enough as well. He's a person everybody's walking over at work, which he acknowledges, so it would be phony of him to try to act all macho suddenly. That's how it seemed to me.

The trope that exists within the influx of "suddenly co-habitating without any effort on the guy's part" trope.

Aah! That's an interesting concept. It's super-appealing to me as well.
. . . which makes me kinda pathetic.

OK. So she's a human woman who turns into a cat at night. Maybe from sundown to sunup? That means she spends most of the time as a human. She knows Japanese and has other common knowledge, which might imply that she actually lives as a human in her own life somehow. Like, she was born into a cat-person family and has had to keep the family secret while growing up, etc.

Sort of like the Fruits Basket families, who live as humans and have human identities and so on, but must be careful.

So, where did she live up until a couple days ago? Did she have a job as an adult human woman? Does she have family?

I suppose I'm pushing at the fourth wall a bit too much. I should just relax and enjoy the fantasy story.
